Medeama left-back, Fatawu Hamidu, has earned a Black Stars call-up as a replacement for injured Baba Rahman.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) did not provide specifications as to where the PAOK defender picked up the injury.
Baba, 28, started for the Black Stars and lasted 69 minutes as they came from a goal down to win 2-1 against the Central African Republic in their final 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Kumasi.
The former Chelsea defender, who started the season on a strong foot with PAOK, however, was the subject of boos when he was subbed off.
Fatawu Hamidu, 24, will now join the Black Stars squad ahead of Tuesday’s international friendly against Liberia.
The former Accra Lions and Vision FC defender has featured in Medeama’s two CAF Champions League preliminary qualifying games this season, and the Super Cup win over Dreams FC.
The game will be played at the Accra Sports Stadium as part of preparations toward the start of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
