The Ghana Police Service has intensified efforts to apprehend a group identifying as the "NDC Youth of Obuasi" after a viral video surfaced showing them issuing threats of violence ahead of the 2024 general elections.
In the video, the individuals made alarming statements aimed at disrupting the December polls, prompting widespread concern.
The police, in a statement dated November 15, described the group’s actions as "a breach of public peace under Section 207 of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29)."

They assured the public that a coordinated operation is underway to arrest the suspects and ensure they are brought to justice.
Authorities reiterated their unwavering commitment to maintaining peace and order during the election period and warned against any behaviour that could jeopardize public safety.
