Sports Minister Kofi Adams has assured Asante Kotoko that those responsible for the death of their supporter, Francis Frimpong Pooley, will face punishment.
The staunch Porcupine fan was stabbed to death during the Porcupines' clash with Nsoatreman in Nsoatre in Week 19 of Ghana’s top-flight league.
Seven arrests have been made, including Nsoatreman FC bankroller Ignatius Baffour-Awuah.
The former Employment and Labour Relations Minister has been placed under a movement restriction order by District Court “B” in Sunyani.

"We will not just condemn the incident [Pooley's death] and leave it at that," Kofi told Kotoko in a meeting on Friday.
"We need to [curb such incident] and I am regularly in conversation with IGP and taking briefs.
"The Ministry is also monitoring the situation and whoever is found to have played a role [in the fatal incident], it does not matter the status of the person, we will see to it that punishment is given to serve as deterrent for others."
Meanwhile, the fatal incident led to the suspension of the division as the Ghana FA met with the 18 Premier League clubs to discuss measures to curb such acts.
Aside the arrest made, six players from Nsoatreman FC have also been formally charged by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for misconduct and unsporting behavior.
