League leaders Bibiani Gold Stars will return to action against Nations FC at Duns Park in a top-of-the-table matchweek 23 contest of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League on Sunday, March 9, 2025.
Gold Stars have been impressive this season, recording nine wins, seven draws, and three losses in 19 league games.
They boast one of the best home records in the league, with seven victories at Duns Park.
Their success has been fueled by a potent attack, averaging at least a goal per game with 19 goals scored so far. Defensively, they have been just as solid, conceding only 10 goals in 19 matches.
Goalkeeper Emmanuel Kobi has played a pivotal role in their defensive stability, registering 11 clean sheets, the second-most in the league.
With just one point separating them from second-placed Asante Kotoko, Frimpong Manso’s side knows they cannot afford to drop points, especially at home, if they want to maintain their title charge.
Nations FC, despite being winless in their last two league games, remain firmly in contention. They sit fifth in the standings, only two points behind Gold Stars.
The break may have come at the perfect time for them as they look to reignite their title push and cause an upset in Bibiani.
The last meeting between these two sides ended in a 1-1 draw on October 13, 2024, but Kassim Mingle’s team holds the edge in their recent matchups, with one win and two draws in their last three encounters.
Sunday’s clash promises to be a thrilling contest. Gold Stars will count on their home advantage and passionate supporters to keep hold of the top spot, but Nations FC won’t be an easy hurdle to clear.
