Young Apostles secured a narrow victory over Accra Lions, deepening their opponents’ struggles in the Ghana Premier League.
The matchday 24 encounter took place at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park on Saturday, March 15, 2025.
Young Apostles, who recently switched their home venue from Wenchi Park after it failed to meet the Ghana Football Association’s enhanced safety and security standards, adopted the Dormaa-based stadium for the fixture.
Both teams entered the game desperate to bounce back from defeats in their previous matches following the league’s resumption.
However, it was the hosts who made the most of their chances. Forward Hussein Issah’s 70th-minute strike proved decisive, securing all three points for Young Apostles.
The victory is a significant boost for the Wenchi-based side, lifting them to 11th place in the standings.
Meanwhile, Accra Lions’ struggles persist. The defeat leaves them rooted to the bottom of the table, with just one win in their last eight games.
After their historic promotion to the top flight in 2021, the club now faces the real threat of relegation unless urgent changes are made.
