The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has confirmed that six people sustained injuries while 21 others were rescued following a road crash at Akuse Junction on the Kpong–Tema Highway on Wednesday, October 29, 2025.
The incident involved a Toyota Hiace minibus (GE 6374–22) and a Dodge Ram pickup (DV 4363Z–25). The impact left several occupants trapped, prompting a coordinated rescue operation by emergency services.
According to a statement issued by the GNFS Tema Regional Public Relations Office, the Kpong Fire Station received a distress call at 1:45 p.m. reporting a serious road accident. A rescue team was immediately dispatched to the scene to assist.

“The six injured persons were transported to the Akuse Government Hospital, while other victims were taken to the Kings and Queens Hospital and St. Martin's De Porres Hospital for medical attention.”
Personnel from the National Ambulance Service and the Akuse Police also responded swiftly to support the rescue and ensure traffic management.
