The Governing Board of the Ghana Boundary Commission has officially been constituted and sworn into office by the Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah at the Jubilee House.
The event brought together Ministers of State and representatives from key state institutions mandated by the Ghana Boundary Commission Act 1123 of 2024 to serve on the Board.
The Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Emmanuel Armah Kofi-Buah is the Chairman of the newly inaugurated Governing Board.

In his address, Mr. Debrah underscored the critical role of Ghana’s international boundaries in safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
He emphasised that boundary management goes beyond imaginary lines, and added that it entails transforming border zones into hubs of socio-economic development.

The Chief of Staff commended the inter-ministerial composition of the Board, describing it as a nerve centre of government.
Mr. Debrah further highlighted some of the major achievements of the Commission since its operationalisation in 2021.
He urged the members to build on those achievements by embracing technology to advance the protection of Ghana’s territorial interests.

Responding on behalf of the Board, Mr Kofi-Buah expressed gratitude to the Chief of Staff and reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to upholding the vision of President John Dramani Mahama.
He added that the Ghana Boundary Commission's Governing Board will ensure the protection, defence, and sustainable management of Ghana’s international boundaries.
