Akufo-Addo to launch Pan-African Heritage world project

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will on Monday, September 21 at 3.00 pm (GMT), perform the virtual global launch of the Pan-African Heritage World Museum.

The Pan-African Heritage World Museum is the creation of former Minister of State and Member of Parliament, Kojo Yankah, who is also the founder of the African University College of Communications in Accra, Ghana.

In the 75-acre world heritage city, located at Pomadze Hills, near Winneba junction, on the Accra-Cape Coast main road, will be a garden of sculptures of African heroes and heroines, a palace of various African kingdoms and their cultures, a herbal plant farm with chalets, a film studio, a writers’ sanctuary, an open-air theatre, hotels, real estate and conference centre, as well as the African University College of Communications.

The project, which is to be partly funded through donations and grants, will also be open to private sector investments.

The Museum will be managed by an International Board of Trustees, supported by an Academic Council chosen from various parts of the Pan African world.

Other personalities at the global launch will include Ghana’s Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mrs Barbara Oteng-Gyasi, HIM Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi 111, Alaafin of Oyo, HIM Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja 11, Ooni of Ife, Nigeria, HM Queen Mother Dr Dowoti Desir from Benin, Queen Djambi from Democratic Republic of Congo, Dr Arikana Chihombori Quao of ADDI, Mr Derrick Johnson, President/CEO of NAACP, Bishop Claude Alexander, Leader of the Park Church and R400 Movement, Pastor David Browley of St. Paul Community Baptist Church, New York, Dr Jackie Copeland, Founder of the Pan-African Women’s Philanthropy Network, and Ms Kron Moore from Tyler Perry Studios.

Other speakers will be scholars from the Academic Council and representatives of the organisation’s branches across the world.

Solidarity messages will also come from the African Union Commission, UNESCO and the Association of African Universities.
