President Nana Akufo-Addo is to address the nation at 8 pm to update citizens on measures government has put in place in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak.
Earlier on Wednesday, March 11, the World Health Organization officially declared the coronavirus outbreak a pandemic.
Since it was first detected in the central Chinese city of Wuhan in December 2019, the virus has spread to every continent except Antarctica and infected more than 121,000 people, causing 4,300 deaths.
The COVID-19, as it is officially known, has spread to over 110 countries in just three months.
Currently, Ghana’s immediate neighbouring countries; Togo, Burkina Faso, and Côte d'Ivoire have all recorded at least one case of the virus.
