The Eastern Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Jeff Konadu Addo, has openly called on party delegates to rally behind Dr Bryan Acheampong in the party’s forthcoming presidential primaries.
He insists he is best placed to lead the NPP to victory in the 2028 general elections.
Mr Konadu Addo credited Dr Acheampong with providing substantial logistical and financial support to the party during the 2024 general elections, particularly in the Eastern Region.
He said the assistance extended to parliamentary candidates as well as regional and constituency executives, helping to sustain the party’s campaign operations.
Speaking to delegates drawn from Lower Manya, Yilo Krobo, Upper Manya and Asuogyaman—collectively referred to as the Krobo Bloc—at Odumase Krobo, the regional chairman said Dr Acheampong’s commitment to the party goes beyond rhetoric and has been demonstrated through consistent investment in its electoral success.
According to him, while other regions faced financial constraints during the 2024 campaign period, the Eastern Region remained relatively stable due largely to the support provided by Dr Acheampong.
He argued that this level of dedication and strategic backing makes a strong case for entrusting him with the party’s presidential candidature.
Mr Konadu Addo urged delegates to vote without fear or intimidation, stressing that unity and confidence would be key as the party prepares for the 2028 contest.
He maintained that Dr Acheampong’s resources, strategy and loyalty to the NPP position him as a formidable contender capable of leading the party back to power.
