The Public Relations Officer for Bibiani Gold Stars, Samuel Kwagyire, says the team parted ways with Frimpong Manso because the coach’s plans did not march with the future business plan of the team.
The coach was sacked following their home defeat to Algeria’s JS Kabylie in their debut in Africa.
Frimpong Manso who led the team to their first league title in history last May was shockingly sacked after the club’s 2-0 defeat on Saturday at the Accra Sports Stadium in the first leg of their CAF Champions League first preliminary round tie.
Manso’s assistant, Nana Yaw Amankwah will now lead the return leg in Algeria on Sunday.
Speaking to Luv FM, Samuel did not elaborate the specific details but suggested that the coach's methods and vision do not match the team's strategic objectives, leading to the termination of their partnership.
“It has to do with management decision. With regards to that, they feel that the future business plan of the team doesn't meet the plans of coach Frimpong Manso and for that reason, they have to say thank you to him,” he said.
“They feel that there are code of ethics and conduct of every work. And regards to that of Gold Stars, as it stands now, they believe that what the plan of the team is not what the coach is actually working towards. For that reason, the feel that he has paid his dues very well. And for that reason, there we have to end a partnership.
"He is a good coach. But they believe that with the road map of the team, that is what we all need to work towards to once you have anything that goes contrary to the road map of the entire team, it means you cannot still belong to the team with that ideology,” he added.
