President John Mahama has constituted a five-member committee to investigate petitions against the Chief Justice of Ghana.
The committee, composed of eminent figures from the legal, military, academic, and public service sectors, will conduct a thorough inquiry into the allegations.

The committee, established under Article 146(6) of the Constitution, comprises the following individuals:
- Justice Gabriel Scott Pwamang (Chairman) – A seasoned Justice of the Supreme Court, Justice Pwamang brings extensive judicial expertise to the committee.
- Justice Samuel Kwame Adibu-Asiedu – Another respected Justice of the Supreme Court, Justice Adibu-Asiedu is known for his impartiality and commitment to upholding the rule of law.
- Daniel Yaw Domelevo – The former Auditor-General, renowned for his anti-corruption stance and rigorous approach to accountability, adds a layer of investigative rigor to the committee.
- Major Flora Bazwaanura Dalugo – Representing the Ghana Armed Forces, Major Dalugo brings a disciplined and structured perspective to the proceedings. Her military background underscores the committee’s emphasis on integrity and due process.
- Prof James Sefah Dzisah – An Associate Professor at the University of Ghana, Prof. Dzisah contributes academic insight and analytical depth to the committee.
The committee’s formation follows President Mahama’s determination that a prima facie case exists against the Chief Justice, warranting further investigation.
In line with Article 146(10) of the Constitution, the Chief Justice has been suspended pending the outcome of the inquiry.
Spokesperson to the President and Minister for Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu confirmed the appointments on Tuesday, April 22.
The committee is expected to commence work immediately, with its findings likely to shape the future of Ghana’s judicial leadership.
