Former President John Mahama has maintained his stance that the results of the presidential election which was announced by the Electoral Commission (EC) are inaccurate.
According to him, although he accepted defeat in the 2016 polls, he is unable to do so now due to some irregularities he has identified in the collation of the 2020 presidential election results.
Speaking at a press briefing on Thursday, December 10, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress said: “I stand before you tonight unwilling to accept the fictionalized results of a flawed election”.
However, the camp of his contender, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) organised an Islamic thanksgiving event to mark their victory.
The ceremony which happened at midday on Friday was led by the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu after Jummah (Friday congregational prayers) at the Central Mosque.
