The Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Henry Asante Twum, says there are no issues with Marvin Senaya as the defender has 'accepted' to represent Ghana.
Senaya was one of four players who were handed maiden call-ups to the Black Stars team ahead of the upcoming friendlies against Austria and Germany.
The Auxerre right-back is also on the cards of Togo and had been invited by the country for the upcoming international break.
However, Senaya now looks set to play for the Black Stars as Otto Addo weighs his options ahead of the 2026 World Cup in Mexico, Canada and the USA.
"Without a player’s word, I think it will be unprofessional to announce a squad when the player hasn’t agreed, when the club hasn’t agreed. There is that assurance that he would make it," Asante Twum said on TV3.
"The FA has been engaging him a number of times. We’ve had conversations with him over a long period of time, and he has accepted to play for us [Black Stars of Ghana]."
Senaya made 21 appearances across all competitions for Auxerre this season with one goal to his name.
Ghana will face Austria on March 27 before playing the 2014 world champions three days later.
