The mood at the Jubilee Park in Tamale in the Northern Region is lively, with thousands of National Democratic Congress (NDC) supporters and sympathizers gathered, singing and dancing in anticipation of the official launch of the party’s national campaign.
The white, black, green, and red umbrella-emblazoned party emblem is prominently displayed on vehicles, bikes, and every available space, while many supporters wear scarves adorned with party paraphernalia.
The top hierarchy of the party have also started arriving at the venue.

Vendors are also taking advantage of the launch to cash in by selling party paraphernalia, water, food among others.
The party's flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama; his running mate, Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang; party chairman, Mr Aseidu Nketiah, other national executives and party stalwarts are expected to address the launch.
Key points expected to feature in the various speeches include the party’s 24-hour economy, the promise to keep the number of ministers, deputies at 60, eradicate corruption and unemployment, among others.
Before the launch, Mr Mahama held a conversation with media practitioners at the Kempinski Gold Coast Hotel on July 7 as part of his engagement with stakeholders ahead of the 2024 election.
Dubbed the "Mahama Conversation," the NDC presidential candidate laid out his vision for the country.
