The Management of the National Service Authority (NSA) has reaffirmed its commitment to the prompt payment of outstanding allowances owed to National Service Personnel (NSP), assuring that steps are underway to clear the arrears by the close of this week.
In a press release, the Authority acknowledged concerns over delayed stipends but stressed that “concrete steps are being taken to expedite the payment of outstanding allowances owed to legitimate Service Personnel.”
Management emphasised that allowances are essential in supporting personnel throughout their service year, noting that “every Personnel deserves timely payment of their rightful stipends.”
According to the statement, the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD) advanced funds last week to cover two months of allowances.
However, the Authority explained that the delay in disbursement is due to an ongoing verification process being undertaken by Ghana Interbank Payment and Settlement Systems Limited (GhIPSS).
Management stated “categorically that the delay stems from an ongoing verification process by GhIPSS, which must be completed to ensure accuracy and financial integrity before payments are finally effected.”
The Authority also commended Service Personnel for their patience and resilience, assuring them that their contribution to national development remains valued.
“We acknowledge the patience and resilience demonstrated by Service Personnel during this period and your service to the nation remains deeply valued and appreciated,” the release added.
Management further pledged to provide timely updates through its official communication channels as efforts continue to resolve the issue.
