Head coach of Asante Kotoko, Prosper Ogum Narteh says he is happy with the performance of his side in their stalemate with Hearts of Oak on Sunday.
The gaffer was hoping to secure another win over Samuel Boadu as the pair came up against each other at the Accra Sports Stadium but there both teams failed to find the back of the net with the game ending in a goalless draw.
Kotoko were presented with so many opportunities to open the scoring against their rivals. Richmond Lamptey and Franck Mbella Etouga forced two good saves out of goalkeeper, Richard Attah, while Georges Mfegue and Dickson Afoakwa also came close.
Asked about the performance of his team during the post-match conference, the Kotoko coach said, "It was a wonderful performance from my side, we looked very compact, we played some good possession in the middle of the park, created a few chances we could have scored but then we couldn’t convert them. Coming on the road to come and play in the manner we played I think is good for the boys, is good for the team, and is good for teams confidence."
On the missed chances from his team, he added, "The chances came but then we couldn’t convert. Sometimes that is how the game is, you get your chances, you don’t convert them and sometimes you lose and sometimes too it ends in a stalemate. So even though we’ve been scoring two, three goals in every game, I think we had the chances but we were unable to score, so it’s okay.”
The Porcupine Warriors may have dropped two vital points from Sunday's game, they still end the firs half of the Ghana Premier League with a seven-point lead.
