Sports Minister Kofi Adams says Ghana’s remarkable sporting achievements in 2025 are the result of intentional reforms and targeted investments rather than coincidence.
Speaking at the SWAG 50th Anniversary Awards, he declared: “2025 is no accident—we engineered this success.”
He stated unequivocally that the year’s progress across athletics, football, boxing, aquatics, hockey and racquet sports came from strategic planning. “We took hard decisions, we invested deliberately, and Ghana is reaping the results,” he said.
He cited the Black Stars’ World Cup qualification, the Black Queens’ resurgence, UDS’ global triumph, and improved performances across federations as evidence of a coordinated national rise.
“Our athletes have excelled across disciplines, and Ghana has repositioned itself as a credible force in African and global sport,” he added.
The Minister reiterated that reforms undertaken in the past two years have begun to show measurable results.
“This performance is the product of policy, preparation and discipline—not luck,” he stressed.
He urged stakeholders to sustain the momentum: “We must build on this foundation and resist the temptation to relax. Success rewards consistency.”
