Ghana’s University for Development Studies (UDS) have reached the semifinals of the 2025 World University Games in Dalian, China.
UDS secured their spot after an emphatic 5-2 win over Kyungil University from South Korea in the quarterfinals.
Ronald Frimpong was the star of the match, netting a brilliant hat-trick.
Zakaria Alhassan also impressed, scoring twice to complete the victory.

The Tamale-based institution remains Ghana’s sole representative and the only African university still in the tournament.
UDS will now wait for the outcome of the final group fixture to determine their semifinal opponent.
