President John Mahama has charged newly appointed ambassadors to uphold Ghana’s interests with diligence and foresight as they assume their diplomatic roles.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony in Accra on Wednesday, November 19, President Mahama praised the envoys for their dedication to national service, emphasising that their appointments reflected merit and commitment to the country.
“Your appointments are recognition of your competence, your years of service, and your demonstrated commitment to our dear nation, Ghana,” he stated.
The president emphasised the increasingly complex international environment that the ambassadors will be navigating.
He highlighted rapid shifts in global dynamics, including technological advancements, geopolitical realignments, climate-related challenges and economic transitions, all of which are reshaping how nations interact and pursue their strategic interests.
“So, distinguished envoys, you are assuming office at a time when the global landscape is shifting rapidly. New technologies, geo-political realignment, climate-related challenges and economic transitions are transforming the way nations react,” Mr Mahama said.
He urged the ambassadors to employ innovation, diplomacy and strategic engagement as they represent Ghana on the world stage, reminding them that their conduct abroad will significantly influence the nation’s image and partnerships.
