The running mate of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Prof Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has received an overwhelming welcome into the Volta Regional town of Juapong within the North Tongu constituency.
Together with her entourage, they were ushered into Juapong township as hundreds of party faithful and supporters including Okada riders and residents flagged in party colours sang and jubilated.
Hundreds of women lined up the major streets of Juapong as well as the screening centre to welcome the running mate.
Speaking at a free health screening ceremony at the Juapong textile company Prof Naana Opoku-Agyemang assured the people of prioritising free primary health care.
The former Education Minister is expected to tour Ho and Ho West constituencies where she will engage members of the Volta Regional House of Chiefs.
She will also be at a durbar with residents and also meet with teachers union.
On Wednesday, John Mahama's running mate and her entourage are expected to visit Ketu North and South where similar engagement will be conducted.
On day three, Thursday, she is expected to be in Hohoe, Kpando and Afadzato South districts.
