Hearts had a goal rruled out for offside before they were awarded a penalty momets later.
Emmanuel Amankwah stepped up to take the resulting spot kick. His effort was saved by Kotoko goalkeeper Camara.
Hearts were presented with late chances to draw level but fluffled their lines on all of those occasions.
At the end of the game, it was Kotoko who sealed the all important to win, clinching yet another President's Cup title.
