A tense atmosphere hanged over the Sofoline lorry terminal in Kwadaso Municipality Tuesday morning, when a group of individuals believed to be affiliated with the National Democratic Congress (NDC) attempted to take over the management of the terminal from the current leadership.
The Municipal Chief Executive, Eric Assibey, intervened to maintain peace and order in the area.

But his timely intervention could not hold as the Kwadaso constituency chairman of NDC, Issah Imoro and his team later joined the party supporters to claim the lorry terminal from the current management.

A team from the Ashanti regional security liaison later stepped in to prevent an escalation of the situation.
