US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has lauded the leadership of Morocco's King Mohammed VI in advancing both regional and global peace and security.
In a press release issued Monday in Washington, following a phone call with Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, Rubio emphasised the significance of the US-Morocco strategic partnership in fostering stability.
He particularly highlighted King Mohammed VI’s pivotal role in these efforts.
The discussions also addressed the implementation of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, the release of hostages, and Morocco’s leadership in providing humanitarian aid for Gaza, according to a statement from the US State Department.
Secretary Rubio further expressed the United States' strong commitment to deepening cooperation with Morocco in advancing mutual interests and resolving regional conflicts, including efforts linked to the Abraham Accords.
Additionally, both Rubio and Bourita underscored the importance of expanding trade, investment, and commercial ties between the two nations to promote economic growth for both Americans and Moroccans, the statement concluded.
