Nigerian artistes Wizkid and Tems have received a platinum plaque for their global hit track 'Essence'.
This was after the song attained over 1,000,000 sales in the United States a year after its release in October 2020. It is the first Afrobeat song to reach platinum in such a short time.
The duo took receipt of the platinum plaque for 'Essence' on Monday after Wizkid's show at the NOVO event space in Los Angeles.
In the video, the global artistes were seen standing on the red carpet at the event venue, with a couple of people holding the plaque in their hands.
