A few hours to Wednesday's declaration of this year's general election results, some supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) massed up on the stretch leading to the Electoral Commission (EC) headquarters.
The reason was a suspected plot to rig the election in favour of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
The angry group was seen chanting war songs and hoisting placards to express their displeasure in front of the Ridge office.

Some of the placards had messages such as 'Accept the results for peace,' 'Ghanaians have spoken,' 'the youth voted jobs,' among others.

Heavy joint police-military team was deployed to keep the situation under control.

Hours later, as fate would have it, the polls went in favour of the NPP's President Akufo-Addo with 6,730,587 votes representing 51.302% of the total valid cast.

His closest contender, NDC's John Mahama polled 6,213,182 which gives him 47.359% of the total votes cast.

But as the country continues to marinate on the fallout of the EC's declaration, here are some images from the protest Wednesday captured by photojournalist, Sammy Moore.
